Riika Lalli spends her first summer as TSV's foreman
At TSV-Rakennus, Riika Lalli, the foreman involved in the work, is responsible for the supervision of the work and the work of the painter.

What was your career like before TSV?
I graduated as a surface finisher in 2014, as a house builder in 2017 and also trained as a wet room fitter. I am currently studying civil engineering at the Lapland University of Applied Sciences in Rovaniemi. I have studied a lot, but I have been working as a painter for 10 years, both during and in between my studies.
How did you end up working for TSV?
After Christmas I was looking for summer work in Rovaniemi and decided to extend my search to Tornio, where I’m from. Now I’m working for TSV for the first summer as a work-intensive supervisor.
What is your usual working day like?
Most of my days are spent on the site management side: making sure that the workers have all the necessary materials, tools and that everyone is comfortable. I also do some clerical work, such as controlling access and keeping a site diary. In addition to my management duties, I paint and paint stripping whenever I have time – so a lot of things. This summer I’ve also had trainees, so my job has involved some on-the-job coaching and assessment.
What kind of project have you been working on?
This summer I have been working at Niilontalo in Kiviranta, Tornio. TSV has been responsible for the complete renovation of the interior of the educational building, and I was taken on as a supervisor for the facade renovation side of the building for an internship.
Why apply to work for TSV?
TSV has a lot of top people working for it. All the supervisors are really nice and you get on well with them – it’s great that everything works well with the management and the employees. It’s been a good summer, so hopefully next summer I’ll be able to continue in the same job.
